Finally, a Finback beer that I traded for and got to drink within a short span of time! The date on the bottom of the can was 6/28 with "THINK NY DRINK MA" written in the two lines above that; which was a nice touch given the two breweries that had a hand in creating this. Safe to say, this was unlike anything that I had from Finback and nearly unlike anything that I ever had before, as this straddled the line between a Lager and an Ale, as it combined the best aspects of both of those classifications!

Not a bad pour to this as the beer was golden, bright, and topped off with a thin layer of loud foam that quickly settled down. Minimal lacing was left behind on the back side of my pint glass as this was quite thin when it came to it's consistency. Plenty of watermelon and Mosaic hops in the nose with both of those being quite formidable in the taste. A bit of lychee came in, giving this a sweetness bordering on jelly without being too sweet or sugary. Green tea spice and a floral earthiness gave this depth as the carbonation wasn't terribly strong at the same time. This beer had a strong brewed aspect to it as it was hard to discern the hops or alcohol in the taste, though there was plenty of spice in the aftertaste!

While not strong, there was enough booze in that I could feel it once I polished this off. This was a great choice to imbibe in during these warmer months as it had the melon and crisp notes that kept it light while having enough bitterness and punch to elevate this above a typical lager. Fun stuff from Finback and Jack's Abby that broke the mold without being too unconventional, though this didn't quite taste like beer. Worth a go once because of the intrigue factor, if nothing else.

16 oz. can dated 6/28/17

Pours hazy yellow-gold with a creamy frothy white foam head. Smells like bready crackery honey pilsner malts, lychee, watermelon, green tea, orange citrus, grapefruit, lemon, minty tobacco spice, with dank floral earthy herbal grassy pine. Tastes like tart citrus, orange, lemon, grapefruit, watermelon, lychee, green tea, bready crackery honey pilsner malts, minty tobacco spice, with dank floral earthy herbal grassy pine. Feels medium-light bodied, creamy and crisp with moderate high carbonation. Overall a real nice IPL with green tea and watermelon.
