Pours very dark and thick, very dense, zero head. Aroma is mainly peanut butter with some chocolate and a hint of coffee. Flavor is loads of peanuts, very sweet, thick chocolate. Coffee appears on the finish. Blueberry possibly appears at the end? Thick and creamy, minimal carbonation. Overall a very tasty beer, not sure if labeling it blueberry is realistic…

Drank from a 1 pint (16 fl. oz.) bottle purchased at Craft Beer Cellar, Belmont, MA
Aged in bourbon barrels 2021
Served in a tulip
The beer poured near pitch black in color and insanely viscous. This was definitely reminiscent of used motor oil. The body was topped by a thin, flimsy, saddle brown film that quickly transformed into a lasting, medium sized collar. There was no lacing whatsoever.
The aroma was really interesting. Peanut butter was the most prominent characteristic. Freshly roasted, all natural peanut butter came to mind. Loads of brown sugar sweetness. Big vanilla presence too. There was a rich maltiness as well. Caramel malts were apparent. Moderate dose of roasted malts too. Dark roast coffee notes were also detectable. The vanilla really intensified as the beer warmed. Later, the coffee came forth.
The flavor profile was similar to the nose but richer and sweeter overall. Malty and robust up front. Loads of sweet caramel malts. Bit of roasted malt character too. Peanut butter appeared next. The peanut butter was punchy but not to the degree it was in the nose. Subtle berry notes were also detectable. I definitely would not be able to pick out the blueberry specifically however. Boozy bourbon notes appeared as the beer moved along the palate and definitely intensified on the back end and the finish. Some roast, booze and oaky barrel notes lingered after the swallow.
Outstanding mouthfeel. The beer was completely full bodied for the style. Super dense and oily. The liquid contained a super fine, mild effervescence that turned creamy, slick and smooth on the palate.
Barrel Aged Blueberry Drip is a fantastically complex and intense imperial stout that evolved nicely over the course of the session. I definitely look forward to trying the Marshmallow and Banana variants as well.
