Spice and citrus additions give this traditional beer a modern twist. Notes of cinnamon, clove and nutmeg interplay with the zest and juice of the blood oranges.

A: The beer is slightly hazy amber orange in color and has a high amount of visible carbonation; a slight push on the cork led to a large "pop" and the stopper launching up, taking the wire cage along with it. It poured with a finger and a half high off white head that died down but consistently left a short head covering the surface and a large pillow of bubbles in the center of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of cinnamon and nutmeg spices are present in the nose. Hints of blood oranges become noticeable as the beer warms up.
T: Similar to the smell, the taste has lots of flavors of nutmeg along with notes of cinnamon and blood oranges.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very unique compared to other bière de gardes—if I was blindfolded I might think this was a pumpkin ale given the heave dose of nutmeg that is present in the smell and taste. Nonetheless, it is rather light in body and easy to drink.
