Just a great beer overall. My one and only criticism is the exceptionally high alcohol content but that is bound to happen with a beer that is packed with so much flavor. It's got a very full taste and is an absolute delight to drink from beginning to end. I got my growler filled with it after trying it at the brewery and have been enjoying it a few times a week (pacing myself due to the higher alcohol content than I am used to). I enjoy every aspect of this beer but even if you make note of the almost 10% alcohol content that it's smooth taste is great at hiding it and can almost make you forget how much is in it.

Pirogue is extremely stark, solidly opaque black marble, and brings flavors of smoky roast, marzipan, tangy strawberry licorice, and black pepper via a soft yet dry frothy medium body.

On tap at the brewery taproom.
Very dark brown body that's nearly black and almost opaque. Decent head.
Complex aroma and flavor with subtle coffee and stronger hints of dark dried fruits. Banana and other typical aspects of the Belgian yeast are present but relatively subtle.
Smooth full body.

This one gave me a big shoulder shrug. Flat and a bit uninspired by my accounting. Boozy. Thin feel. In fairness, this is not my "style," and the ingredients are obviously quality. That said, not my bag.

Not your average tripel. Bourbon, booze dominate the aroma, with hints of pear and roast malt. Gotta dig to find coffee.
Flavor is similar, bourbon dominant, then Belgian esters of pear, apple, with a lightly roasty, coffee finish. Probably should've let it sit longer than 6 months.

Poured from can into a tulip glass. Black with minimal head. Decent but thin lacing. Cocoa and mild malt notes cocoa on the tongue. Thin. No body. Too bitter for a trippel.coffee and cocoa notes/taste overpowered any malt. Not a beer I would drink again.
