16oz can, packaged 12:42:22 on 05/05/17. Served in a Duvel tulip glass.
Appearance: Very dark brown, letting no light through. Thin tan head with some sheets and strands of lacing. Probably the darkest rye beer I've ever seen - approaching stout territory in appearance.
Smell: Roasted malts, hint of chocolate, and with a good swirl, a whiff of raisins.
Taste: Roasted malt again, with a mix of chocolate, coffee, herbal, and maybe some raisin, but the raisin is muted. If there is rye in this beer I can't taste it.
Mouthfeel: Light carbonation, smooth, but a bit watery. A bit dry.
Overall / Drinkability: I think I just drank a watery stout. It's not a bad beer, but it's not a rye beer and the mouthfeel of the oatmeal is hidden. An oatmeal raisin cookie stout - that I could see in a beer and that's what we have here. I'd almost call it an oatmeal raisin dry Irish stout rather than a Rye beer. Good to try, but I don't think I would buy again and one is enough.

Dark brown, displaying as almost black, with a light tan, caviar-bubbled moderate fizz that slowly settles.
This is mostly cola-esque, and not as raisin- or oat-forward as you'd think it should be, if you've had a good number of other brews aiming for these attributes.

I'm absolutely terrible at describing beers. I'm a big craft beer drinker and watch dozens of craft beer youtube videos explaining the tastes of all beers. I'll leave that for the folks that are good at describing theses wonderful beers. I can tell you this. I bought a four pack of this from krogers on a whim and cracked one open later that night. This beer is Great! Such a good taste with no off flavors i want to say. Feels good in the mouth and the taste is out of sight. Again, sorry i don't have details. I do want to say if you have a chance to try this beer you most likely will enjoy. Cheers 17

16 ounce can, canned on 12/29/16. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head that stuck around a while. There's also a lot of lacing. The brew smells like roasted malt, raisins, rye, bittesweet chocolate and earthiness. The brew tastes like rye, dark bread, raisins, bittersweet chocolate, and some earthy herbalness. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's smooth and a bit creamy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought it was a good overall brew, certainly worth a try. $9.99 a 4-pack.
