From a growler via Jungle Jim's Eastgate in a snifter. This nice Belgian Tripel
pours a nice and bright amber tinged golden color with a nice head of white
dissipating foam that settles to a thin ring and shows subtle lacing. Nose of
mild candy sugars and subtle herbal notes with a touch of herbal hops and
light banana esters. Of note this has cold brewed coffee in it yet none is
detectable on the nose.....flavors show otherwise with candy sugars and light
herbal notes from subtle Belgian spice of coriander that mingle with a mild and
mellow coffee note that hits and then fades into the rear of the taste with a nice
subtle herbal hop note that blends well with the lightly warming booze touched
finish. Nice mouth feel; medium body, medium light carbonation that helps sear
in the alcohol warmth, and a nice sweet finish.
Balanced and well done with the coffee taking a back seat without over asserting
itself. Solid for a hybrid and a nice experience.
Cheers
