In 1850, impassioned artisans created stunning hand-carved chairs at the Stomps-Burkhardt Company in Dayton. Many of these prized pieces featured ornate faces based on Greek and Roman mythology. These chairs are now highly sought after by collectors. Today, craft beer aficionados have something to add to their own collections. Baltic Argonaut. A deep ebony Baltic Porter. With scents of roasted coffee and caramel. Taste luscious dark malt, chocolate, Rye Bourbon, vanilla, and hints of coffee. Now ease back. Close your eyes. Embrace the past. Then savor the moment.

Tasted from the tap at the Warped Wing Dayton location. Delicious rye whiskey aromas and flavors. Very deep and complex flavors. The standout of the three barrel aged beers that were on tap that night.

Slick black with a tall, fizzly dark tan head dying to a thin ring.
Smell is milky yet splintery oak and mapled bourbon, but all light.
Taste starts of spicy booze that's just mild enough to be perfectly tolerable, with a bit of char and even burnt oak. Roasty, nutty chocolate notes are deeply complex and unique, like freshly toasted whole cacao bean, leading into a marshmallow exhale after the tingly, semi-dry finish. The medium body has a thin crackly carbonation.

12.7 ounce bottle. Served in a Warped Wing snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head that stuck around a while. There's a decent amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like dark fruit, cocoa, vanilla, whiskey, wood and roasted malt. Taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but there's also some coffee flavor noticeable too. It's mostly sweet but not overpoweringly so. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's a little creamy and coating with a moderate amount of carbonation. 11.5% ABV is well hidden here! I liked this a lot, but then I really liked the base Baltic Argonaut brew too. Definitely worth picking this, the base beer or any of the variants up! $9.99 a bottle.
