For such a dynamic, spastic, once-in-a-lifetime kind of of band, a low ABV, muted taste Pale Ale misses the mark. No band ever, EVER, had stage presence like Brainiac and they deserve a beer that speaks at the same volume. Very happy that Warped Wing stepped up to pay tribute to a Dayton institution such as Brainiac, but I have to wonder if this was not a case of slapping a Cadillac sticker on a Volvo. To me, Brainiac screams sharp notes, strong flavors, and the unexpected. A low ABV pale ale is a miss. Let’s hope they get a second chance to get it right.
