In the late 1700’s a government imposed whiskey tax crippled the emerging bourbon trade. A thirsty few rose up and spawned a revolution. Finally, government control ended. And a truce was penned. At last, liberating the free flow of bourbon once again. Whiskey Rebellion. A Russian Imperial Stout aged in reclaimed bourbon barrels. Marked with accents of Irish Cream, chocolate, and vanilla. Stand your ground.

From the 12.7 oz bottle in a snifter. This solid little imperial pours a rich
brownish black with a modest head of khaki foam that settles to a thin ring.
Nose of bourbon, oak, subtle char, cream, vanilla, dark chocolate, and dark berry
nuances. Flavors surpass the nose with bourbon, oak, vanilla, char, dark chocolate,
molasses, subtle coffee, cream, and dark berry notes of blackberry and raspberry.
Mouth feel is full, smooth, moderately warming, light carbonation, and a sweet
bitter malt and bourbon cream laced finish that is subtly dry.
Overall, a SOLID imperial!
Cheers

12.7 ounce bottle, 2021 vintage, purchased at their Barrel Room and Smokery location a couple weeks ago. Served in a Warped Wing snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head. Decent amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like bourbon, vanilla, Irish cream, roasted malt, caramel, and molasses. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some oak, coffee and burnt/charred flavors noticeable too. Good amount of barrel character in both the aroma and taste without it being overpowering. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's slick and a bit rich and creamy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a pretty good overall brew, really can't go wrong with Whiskey Rebellion or any of its variants, and this one is definitely worth picking up too.
