From the 12.7 oz bottle in a snifter via Bluejacket74! Cheers Dude!
This decent little porter pours a near pitch black with modest head of tan
foam that settles to a thin ring and subtle dusty layer. Nose of heavy peppermint,
dark roasted malts, dark cocoa, and subtle char dashed with dark coffee. Flavors
lightly expand on the nose with some exceptions with dark cocoa to the fore, heavy
peppermint akin to those green, red, and white creams with the Christmas tree in the
middle, subtle rum (that shows more with warmth), moderate char, and dark coffee.
Mouth feel is full, smooth, rich, subtly warming, medium light carbonation, and a
peppermint laden finish that is moderately dry.

Overall, a unique brew that is good but a touch out of balance with all the
peppermint.

Cheers

12.7 ounce bottle, 2024 vintage, thanks to my buddy Denis for picking this one up for me! Served in a Warped Wing Esther's Li'l Secret chalice, the beer pours dark brown/black with not quite an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. The brew smells mostly like peppermint, along with some rum, roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate. I think the taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but all the flavors seem pretty well balanced with no one flavor overpowering the others. Nice amount of rum barrel character. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's slick and a little bit creamy with a moderate amount of carbonation. Aging it in rum barrels is a nice twist to the base beer here. I enjoyed this brew, worth a try if you get the chance!
