From the 12 oz can in a snifter via Bluejacket74! Cheers Dude! This decent
little porter pours a dark brownish black with a moderate head of light brown
foam that settles to a thick ring, thin dusty layer, and sports some light lacing.
Nose of peppermint patties and subtle coffee dashed with a touch of cream.
Flavors follow the nose with dark chocolate, peppermint, cream, moderate
coffee, and subtle char and roast. Mouth feel is medium, medium carbonation,
smooth, rich, lightly creamy, and finishing with a bitter malt and peppermint note.
Overall, a well presented spiced porter.
Cheers

12 ounce can, packaged 10/30/2024, thanks to my buddy Denis for picking this one up for me! Served in a Warped Wing Esther's Li'l Secret chalice, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch and a half tan head that stuck around a while. Good amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like dark chocolate, peppermint, roasted malt and a bit of coffee. Taste is similar to the aroma, I think the peppermint flavor stands out compared to the others, but the coffee, dark chocolate and roasted malt are all pretty noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's smooth and a bit creamy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this one, worth a try especially if you like peppermint beers!

12oz can served in a LIbby globe porter glass. Packaged 09:22:17 10/30/2024.
Appearance: Very dark brown, letting just a bit of a cola brown color through at the edges. Thick tan head with sheets of persistent lacing.
Smell: Definite peppermint, and a bit of a coffee roasted malt note.
Taste: Tastes a lot like it smells, but with some underlying sweetness for balance. There is a chocolate note as well at the finish, along with the roasted malt for bitterness. The peppermint is quite strong.
Mouthfeel: Good thickness, and good carbonation levels as well, closer to what you would expect with a porter. A bit sticky on the teeth, and a definite warming / spiciness from the peppermint.
Overall / Drinkability: In previous years, I've found this series of beer to be exceedingly sweet to the point that I couldn't finish it. This one however, is a sipping beer, and while the peppermint is quite strong, I didn't mind working on it slowly and finishing it. One per evening though - I don't think I could have more than one.
