12.7 ounce, 2023 vintage, thanks to Brutaltruth for this one! Served in a Warped Wing snifter, the beer pours a somewhat hazy copper/brown color with about an inch light tan head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. I like the aroma, the brew smells like brown sugar, caramel, clove, cooked apples, vanilla and bourbon. For the most part the taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some oak, fig and wheaty flavors. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's smooth and a bit syrupy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this one, but this was probably better when fresher. Still worth a try if you get the chance, hopefully they'll make a newer batch of this sometime!

From the 2023 bottle in a snifter. This nice little wheat wine pours a chill hazed
light brown with a modest head of khaki foam that settles to a thin ring. Nose of
oak, vanilla, bourbon, figs, and astringent phenol laden booze. Flavors hit the
road running with figs, honey sweet malt, subtle wheat, bourbon, oak, vanilla,
and light apricot. Mouth feel is medium, light carbonation, smooth, moderately
warming, and finishing subtly dry and moderately sweet.

Overall, a nice little wheat wine.

Cheers

2023 Bottle pours a turbid hazel color with one finger of cream-colored head. Drops fairly bright, stays effervescent throughout the bottle, average-ish lacing & head retention

S: Treacle notes, hints of Bourbon, wet paper notes that vanish quickly. Rich boozy nose, figs & jammyness come to the fore once warmed up

T: Follows the nose a little honey, leafy hops, in your face barrel up front. Oaky dryness, hints of Port Barrel, leafy & woody hops, a little bit of raisin & apricot jam once warm, treacle sweetness that detracts a bit from the overall taste. Finishes with a sourwood honey vibe, plenty of oaky dryness & white wine/grape notes

MF: Medium body, pretty firm carbonation, plenty warming. Body thins a bit once warmed up

Interesting take, wonder what this was like 18 months ago? A sipper now, plenty boozy, well worth a go!
