Darkish bronze in hue; the bartender gave me a stadium pour so there was no head. Thus, the overall appearance of this beer was hurt. The nose is a punch in the face of pine. That was really all I could smell. I did not care for it one bit. The palate was equally piney. It reminded me (unfavorably) of Spilker’s Hopluia (minus the odd bubblegum flavors). If I was going to construct an IPA I would not want stay as far away from Hopluia references as possible. The flavors are basic and the pine notes dominated. A bit full in body for an IPA. Overall, sadly, I was not a fan of this IPA. I do not plan on revisiting this beer unless I am told on good authority it has changed/improved.
