Tap pour at the taproom. Served chilled in a thin lager glass.
Cloudy, straw colored body. White head upon pouring which persists. Leaves behind partial lacing sheets.
Aroma of jalapeño and toasted malt. The pineapple is what lingers after each sip.
Taste is both sweet and with a little burn from the chile. Jalapeño is fresh. Solid toasted malt base. The pineapple presents a sweet fruit addition. Aftertaste is relatively short but the slight burn persists.
A little more than medium mouthfeel. Crisp and clean finish. Very good carbonation.
The jalapeño is fresh, even in the burps. The pineapple is a good juxtaposition to the chile.

Pours cloudy straw gold, can I had gushed white foam and took some time to settle. Overall; nice looking. Nose is raw sliced jalapeño, some bread dough and a faint hint of pineapple. Taste follows suit. Not much pineapple or sweetness; a lot of chili pepper heat and cracker notes. Overall, above average compared to beers I’ve had of the style.

12oz can enjoy by date 11/22/21 into a tall pilsner glass.
L: Pours a pale hazy straw grapefruit grey-yellow with a thin fizzy white head that dissipates in seconds. There is some yeasty sediment in suspension and lacing is gritty on glass.
S: Sweet bread, ripe pineapple, semi-rich caramel, blueberry, esters.
T: Sweet yellow bread, jalapeno, over-ripe pineapple, buttery caramel, white raisins, berries, honey, dry apricot pith, lemon pith, dry citrus, green tea and yeasty biscuit malt. Dry buttery fruit with a dash of heat.
F: Very fast and dry light-bodied mouthfeel that retains slow heat from the peppering. It is lightly slippery.
O: A rather pale, flat out malt forward pilsner. The jalapeno pepper taste and level are impressively well balanced and make this beer lively and sizzle a bit. A fantastic chili beer with excellent drinkability. It is unique and excellent in it's style.

Poured can into a snifter glass..
Coudy golden pilsner with light lace of head.
Smell is strong jalepeño and a hint of pineapple at the very end.
Taste the zing of pineapple in the back of my tongue with a little heat at the end that stays after you swallow.
Medium mouth feel for a pilsner.
Great beer from a great local company.
They deserve praise for how they support their community through hard times, as much as they deserve praise for making grade A beer.

12 oz can, seems to be a best by date of 8/3/20, even though it says 8/3/2014? I think the 14 is a production code. Gotta be.
Nonetheless the can gushes on opening, and after spending a couple minutes cleaning up the mess, I was able to pour it into a nearby Pearl Street pint glass - guess that's what I'm serving it in tonight. Has a hazy blonde color with a tall creamy head that leaves splotches of lace as it recedes and rests at 1/2 finger.
Aroma is generally fruity to start, nonspecific, and then a sharp hit of jalapeno meets the nose, seeds and all, and then some faint wafts of bready/grainy malt.
Flavor brings the awesome crisp and bready pilsner base of their original "Pils" (my personal favorite by a mile from Brickway), but then is quickly overtaken by sharp and "dark" jalapeno and some traces of pineapple juice. It finishes semi-sweet, semi-hot, definitely a nice balance here, with some lingering tingling on the back surfaces of the mouth.
Feel is crisp and nearly clean but not quite there like their original, and has some residue to clean up once it leaves. Its heat tingles the mouth more after the swallow than it does while it's on the palate.
Overall, Nebraska is big on jalapeno beers, for reasons I am unsure of. Thankfully their state's jalapeno beers for the large part do not disappoint, and this one lands right in with the group and is an enjoyable beer overall. The pineapple softens the blow of the exciting yet spicy jalapeno and I think it would be a great boat beer or with Mexican food.
