Look:Muddy light orange with a 1 finger white head. The head disappears in less than 2 minutes leaving trace lacing. Looks like orange juice mixed with white wine.
Smell: Orange and grapes.
Taste: Very sweet and sharp at the front. Artificial flavours like a orange crush soda. Gets quite sour and tart quickly.
Feel: Super tart and cloying. Makes you pucker up.
I would only recommend for people who think eating sour candies is the cat's arse. This beer earns a C-

473 ml can served cool into a pint glass. LCBO purchase for $3.75 CDN. Packaged March 16, 2020. Listed at 4.8% ABV. Nifty label art and harkens me back to some Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild whereby when a Blood Moon occurred all enemies killed were brought back to life (scary stuff).
Appearance - Hazy dirty honey brown beer with a half finger of head that fizzles out as quick as pop. No lacing to speak of.
Smell - Quite sweet with blood orange, other citrus and possibly some melon with perfumey flowers backing things up.
Taste - Initially tart and sour flavors of orange mixed in throughout. Wheat flavors in the aftertaste with some citrus maybe a punch of lime. Blood orange has a slight artificial flavor in there, too concise without additives.
Mouthfeel - Fizzy and gassy, not terribly dry, body is medium. Refreshing in small quantities, but not nearly as much as some of the other recently released Ontario wild ales.
Overall - Blood Moon isn't bade but it seems to force the blood orange a bit too much and is not nearly as refreshing as a couple other local sours, Zephyr from Sons of Kent to name one that just seems much more well rounded and easier to drink. It kind of bridges the radler/sour ale gap if anything, which I'm not sure was a gap that needed to be filled.

473 mL can picked up at Superstore; packaged Dec 30 2019 and served barely chilled. Listed at 4.8%.
Pours cloudy but translucent, with a golden orange-coloured body briefly capped off with half a finger of foamy white head. It fizzles away completely in ninety seconds or so, leaving a barren surface behind - not even a speck of lace to speak of. Not much to look at, but at least the orange juice-y look is on theme. This notion is carried over to the nose, itself laden with notes of OJ, grapefruit, lemon as well as hints of blood orange and berries.
I like it - it's tart, but not puckeringly so, as the blood orange seems to integrate nicely with the lemony lactic acidity. Lesser hints of pink grapefruit juice and OJ also come through, with more lemon and yogurt towards the finish, preparing you for the moderately tart, very citrusy aftertaste. As for the malts - which include barley, wheat and flaked oats - they're not an obvious presence, though I suppose there's a touch of grainy, wheaty sweetness in there. Medium-light in body, with a good spritz contributed by the carbonation - an absolute necessity for this kind of light, refreshing, tart & fruity brew.
Final Grade: 3.92, a B+. I liked Whitewater's Blood Moon more than I expected to, and found it very drinkable, indeed... for a sour, anyhow. This was mostly due to a nice balance (of sorts) being achieved between the base lactic sourness and the blood orange additive. It's a product that should have some crossover appeal for fans of blood orange-flavoured beverages, assuming they can handle the sourness: it's a 2.5 out of 10 on the sourness scale at best IMO, but folks who've never tried a kettle sour may disagree. A pleasant surprise that I'd recommend and return to.
