473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Feb 28 2022 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a foggy golden-yellow colour, briefly capped with half a finger of soapy, frothy white head that collapses within a minute or so. A thin collar is the only remnant of note; no cap, sparse lacing - looks like a typical kettle sour. Surprisingly sugary-sweet on the nose: I'm getting green Kool-Aid first and foremost, with hints of lime-ade, kiwi flesh and grainy malt. It's nostalgic in a way, but smells sweeter than I'd like, at least in the case of a sour.
The flavour profile flips that story - it's very sour, and the kiwi sweetness just isn't enough to dampen it effectively. Lactic sour/sharpness from the get-go, with some mild funkiness; hints of wheaty grain underneath, with the lime and kiwi both well-represented throughout the sip. Finishes with an acidic, sugary twang of lime-ade, as lemon and lactic acidity persist into the aftertaste for a moment. Light in body, with aggressive carbonation that remains prickly and crisp well into the session; spritzy on the tongue, and at least a little refreshing, but too sour for me.
Final Grade: 3.46, a passable B-. I'm a fan of lime-flavoured stuff, so I actually liked Funky Fresh at first, but then I found it became tiresome to drink pretty quickly. If you don't care for lime much, I imagine it'd be tough to finish: lime's a relatively acidic fruit, and this brew's natural acidity is intense to begin with - and though there is a decent amount of (sweet) kiwi flavour here, the sourness is just overwhelming, making for a poorly balanced glass. If you really like lime and/or kiwi, I'd say it's still worth a shot, but it's not a brew I see myself returning to anytime soon.

473 ml can served cold into a tulip. LCBO purchase for around $3.95 CDN. Canned March 21, 2022
Appearance - Fairly hazy, golden colored brew with two fingers of dense and tight white head and pretty decent staying power.
Smell - Quite fruity, some floral notes, hints of kiwi and lime, and generally a touch sweeter on the aroma than expected.
Taste - quite sour, enamel stripping sourness. Kiwi faintly then lime and more lime. Tasty enough but lime has to be your thing otherwise, it's just not quite balanced.
Mouthfeel - pretty, light, definitely crisp and with assertive carbonation. The feel is quite good with the flavors in mind.
Overall - Too sour for my liking but those loving kiwi (yes) and lime (not as much) are sure to find this a refreshing summer brew. With that said, due to the intense sourness, this is definitely a one and done for me. But the execution of what was promised is quite good and delivers.
