Scoop up something sweet. Fudgy Brownie Sundae is a rich, indulgent nitro stout that swirls gooey fudge brownie, creamy vanilla ice cream, and a drizzle of hot fudge into one velvety-smooth pour—no spoon required. It’s dessert in a can.

473 mL nitro-can from the LCBO; dated Dec 15 2025 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a dark brown colour with scarlet red highlights. I gave this can a quick shake and dumped it directly into the glass; this musters a solitary finger of big bubbled, beige-coloured head that quickly dissipates, though the soapy collar it leaves behind lasts for considerably longer. Good lace deposition too; looks fine overall. The aroma does have a fudgy quality, while also offering up notes of cocoa, vanilla, caffè mocha and toasted bread.
Unfortunately, the aroma is more convincing than the flavour profile - there is a chocolate brownie note here, but "fudgy" might be overselling it. I'm also getting cocoa and bitter baker's chocolate, but the lactose/chocolate milk-like sweetness largely overrides any emergent bitterness. Vanilla extract, cocoa and lactose on the back end, with hints of treacle and roastiness; these flavours all fade into a fairly sweet aftertaste. Gives you the sticky lips. Light in body, with no carbonation whatsoever, making for a very smooth yet rather thin mouthfeel; it doesn't really have that silky quality that you get from, say, a Guinness. Polishing off one can is simple enough, but I don't think I could drink more than one of these per night.
Final Grade: 3.69, a B grade. Fudgy Brownie Sundae is very much a mixed bag: the aroma impressed me, though I thought the visuals and mouthfeel were both quite lacking. The flavour profile falls somewhere in between those two extremes... it's palatable enough I suppose, and it does do a passable job of mimicking a brownie sundae. I dunno, it's interesting enough to be worth a try, and I might take it for another spin next winter, but some tweaks are in order before I'd give this a serious recommendation.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From the University Ave. West LCBO in nearby downtown Windsor. No date stamp or lot number. My 14th beer from the Cobden, Ontario brewery, and 7th for 2026. Engagingly enjoyed by Sundae the cat...

473ml can served cold into an oversized wine glass. LCBO purchase. Canned December 15, 2025. Nitro can.
Appearance - An aggressive pour yielded a dark brown beer and half a finger of foamy off tan head. Modest staying power.
Smell - Subdued nose with with some roasty notes, hints of chocolate and vanilla.
Taste - Fairly sweet, some milk chocolate and whipped cream-esque flavoring. Low bitterness. Does give off the dessert vibe well.
Mouthfeel - Lack of carbonation here, makes the beer smooth but not terribly voluminous. Would love a chewier feel here.
Overall - Decent enough tasting dessert beer, but wishing for more.
