I have had this on cask both at their taproom and at the 2014 Magic City Brewfest. I have also had a long conversation with Will, their brewer.
Appearance: light golden brown, typical of the style.
Smell: here we go! Earthy, grassy, slight caramel notes.
Taste: Mmmm, yes please. Taste follows aroma, with an added zing of lightly orange marmalade bitterness. Slightly sweet aftertaste, but not lingering - just a delicate "ping" of sweet.
Mouthfeel: cask. Subtle, understated carbonation and an almost silky presence.
Overall: Maris Otter, caramel/crystal malt, Fuggles, Goldings, cask conditioned and dry hopped with Goldings. As good as any ESB I have had back in the UK. Very well done indeed.
