Picked can of this up on a whim while in JAX for a conference. Really just bought it for the German Shepherd on the can, and when I saw the VU label, I was sold. Pleasantly surprised to find it above average. Good amber ale, easy drinker.

One of my favorites, and very consistent as are most of VU's products. Brown, malty, deep flavor that just works.
Love the German Shepherd logo of this beer, even though it doesn't add to the taste. My go to when I visit Veteran's in Jax., FL. This brewery is great, and took the time to give me and a friend an unscheduled tour of their site. VU remains a class act.

loved this amber red beer. heavy malt flavor up front with noble hops as well. 5.4 alcohol seemed a bit light for me but still excellent for a baseball game or relaxing in the sun.

I am a big fan Alt style. This is a good attempt. My only comment is that i believe is fermented a little long. Typically Alt's are in the 4.6 to 5.6 ABV range. As indicated this offering is at 5.4 (on the higher end of the scale). The IBU's is listed as 30 (typical range is 25-52) and the SRM as 12 (11-19). In actually, I believe both the IBU and SRM are higher than indicated; the source of my comment on fermentation. In summary, i believe this is a much better attempt than the Copper at OMB.

Sangrias Wine & Tapas 4/3/2018 St. Augustine
Malts are on the front of the palate but well balanced with the hops; malts linger

Great tasting amber. Deep, dark copper hue. Sweet and malty.
