Sfizio is an Italian Style Pilsner with a snappy, cracker-like malt body and a tantalizingly bitter finish. This modern approach to pilsner is hopped as generously as an American IPA, but with Noble hop varieties that are more delicate than their American counterparts. Heaps of Hallertau Mittelfrüh and Aurora hops create fragrant notes of pine and eucalyptus as lively as a zip around San Francisco’s rolling city streets.

Serving: 12 fl oz can enjoyed poolside at home, and out of a 9 oz Libbey Gibraltar glass.

Appearance: Pours bright, clear straw-yellow, with a frothy head of white foam.

Smell: Grassy, hops, pizza dough and lemon zest.

Taste: Dry, cracker malt body with grassy, peppery hops and a crisp bitter close.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate carbonation.

Overall: Crisp, refreshing and nicely flavorful lager - perfect aperitivo!

Peppery. Bitter. Dry. Unique. I'd buy this again if I wanted something different. Not slammable despite the low ABV. It's a good beer but definitely not something I'd like to drink daily. This is a good example of a pilsner vs a lager. This is bitter. It's a "bitter lager" and the more I drink it the more I like it. I may change rating later.

Sfizio, Fort Point, Pils
On tap at Tony’s

A- slightly hazed golden-yellow-straw body. Medium carbonation. Awesome stick from a 1-finger off-white head.

S- lighter. Pizza dough, husky malt. Leafy, herbal hops. Light lemon. It does open up a bit.

T- Husky malts. Lemony. Pizza dough. Fresh. Clean hoppy finish.

M- medium light body. Dry. Crisp.

O- nice hoppy lager. Great pizza beer.

Just a fantastic pilsner. Too many pilsners these days are too subdued to the point where they should be renamed lagers only. If you look into the brewmaster's history and travels to europe you will understand just how important this pilsner is to american brewed pilsners. This is the definition of crisp, hoppy, and grassy. Exactly what I want from a pilsner. German and Czech variants come together for this one with the hoppy italian twist.

I do enjoy a crisp, hoppy pilsner. This hit the spot, and scratched the itch. Their take on an “Italian Pilsner,” with the high hop presence. From a can.

This one was weird for me. Strong hop smell and flavor at the start which makes me think of stronger IPAs. But after that it devolves more into a crisp pilsner like feeling. I am not used to both of these at the same time, so for me it doesn't pair well. Will finish the pack but not sure if I'll purchase it again.

Can from Whole Foods in Monterey, CA. Pours a clear light yellow gold with a finger of rocky white head that dissipates, nice lacing, smell is sour and grassy wheat bread, hint of lemon zest and honey, taste is herbaceous caramel/hop candy, light brown bread and candy malts, mild herbaceous/grassy finish, feel is light to medium bodied, creamy carbonation. A highly drinkable malty and herbaceous treat.

A great representation of an Italian pilsner, which is an underappreciated style. This beer is crisp and refreshing with a great mouth feel. I'll be going back for this one a lot. Especially with dinner or sunny afternoons in the backyard.

Overall this is a light, crisp beer with a harsh taste that makes it on the edge of drinkable for me. Not something I'd buy again

Beautiful clear golden straw color with a mountain of sticky white foam on top.
Nose is bright and grassy with a bit of a spoiled fruit note
Taste brings grassy notes and black tea along with a bitter fruit rind note. It all kind of clashes a bit and comes of harsh and not super drinkable.
Feel is nice and light and crisp
