12 ounce bottle. 2020 vintage, purchased at the release on November 7th. Served in a Zaftig Ol' Rugger chalice, the beer pours a dark brown/black color with about a 1/4 inch tan head that fizzled away quickly. There's also a small amount of lacing. The brew smells mostly like coffee, along with some tobacco, dark fruit, oak, dark chocolate and vanilla. Taste is pretty much like the aroma, but there's also some molasses, bourbon and earthy flavors noticeable too. I do think the coffee stands out in both the taste and aroma, but it also doesn't overpower the other flavors. Mouthfeel/body is full, it's syrupy, rich, creamy and coating with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this Ol' Rugger variant a lot, definitely worth trying if you get the chance to!
