A Scandanavian troll took up residence in the brewery a few weeks ago. Elusive though he was, he took a break from eating children to help our brewers develop a big new stout. The result is enough to please the most discerning of palates. Enjoy in the dark, but remember to watch your back; trolls are mischievous.

A - Dark brown pour that's borderline black with thin caramel colored lacing.

S - Chocolate roast, toasted cocoa, and some cream on the nose.

T - Chocolate roast, chocolate char, dark fruit, a slight shot of anise, and light lactose / cream. Long lingering chocolate char / bitterness on the back side.

M - On the heavier side with some frothy thinness around the edges. Little alcohol warming but with alcohol effervescence permeating up to the sinuses. Finishes dry on the back of the tongue with a wet lactose layer left hanging out in the front of the mouth.

O - This is a really drinkable big milk stout.

Canned on 11/17/21. 16oz can poured into a tulip.

Pours almost black; dark khaki head that fades quickly leaving okay retention and lacing.

The aromas are malt forward along with some dark chocolate and dark fruits.

The flavors follow the nose but are bolder. Lots of chocolate. Nice blend of dark chocolate and chocolate syrup. More dark fruits. Some molasses. Moderate to low bitterness. Lower sweetness as well. Solid malt backbone. Mild warmth in the finish, but the alcohol is ultimately well hidden.

Mouthfeel is full-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's fluffy and smooth.

This is a nice imperial stout. It honestly drinks more like a Russian Imperial Stout than an Imperial Milk Stout for whatever that's worth. There's not much of a milk stout vibe going on, but it's still really good nonetheless. I like it.

From the 16 oz can in a snifter. This excellent brew pours a coal black with a
very nice head of brwon foam that settles to a thick ring, thin layer, and sports
some nice lacing. Nose of dark cocoa, dark coffee, char, deep roast, and subtle
cream. Flavors expand on the nose with dark cocoa, dark coffee, deep char and
roasted malts, earthy malts, breaded malts, dark raisin notes, light anise notes,
and dark fruits blackberry and raspberry dashed with sweet cream. Nice mouth
feel; full body, smooth as silk, rich, coating, BEEFY, low carbonation, and a bitter
malt finish that is lightly dry.

Overall----still one of the best breweries in Columbus that brews
BIG and Bawdy brews.

Excellent!

Cheers

16 ounce can, canned on 11/17/2021. Served in a Zaftig snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch and a half frothy tan head that stuck around for a really long time. There's a good amount of lacing, too. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like roasted malt, dark chocolate, cream and some earthy hops. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some coffee, dark bread, anise and burnt/charred malt flavors. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's coating and a bit creamy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this imperial milk stout, it's a good milk stout with a nice earthy hop to it. Wouldn't mind buying another 4-pack of this one, certainly worth trying if you come across some!
