Big things sometimes come in small packages and this stout is no exception. Remarkably compact in a 12 oz can, plump and ample bodied - Short N' Stout features a robust rich dark chocolate flavor with caramel notes and a mild bitterness from Centennial and Perle hops. Boozy, yet balanced, this sturdy offering is well-rounded and smooth until the last drop.

Batch #527. Canned on 10-5-22. 12oz can poured into a tulip.

Pours almost black; fluffy khaki head that fades leaving nice retention and okay lacing.

The aromas are malt forward. Some dark fruits and chocolate coming through.

The flavors have a nice amount of chocolate leading the way. Nice blend of dark chocolate and milk chocolate along with some chocolate syrup. Subtle hints of espresso and vanilla. More dark fruits. Lots of raisins. Solid malt backbone. Decent bitterness to go with a subtle sweetness. Mild warmth, but the alcohol is ultimately well hidden.

Mouthfeel is full-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's creamy, velvety, fluffy, smooth, and slightly sharp.

This is a solid imperial stout. It's not flashy or anything too crazy but it's simply straightforward and enjoyable. Not bad at all.

From the 12 oz can in a snifter via the brewery whilst hanging out with Bluejacket74
and Laura! This solid little easy drinker pours a coal black with a fantastic head of brown
foam that settles to a thick layer with excellent lacing. Nose of dark coffee, dark bakers
chocolate, char, and earthy malts. Flavors follow the nose with earthy malts, dark bakers
chocolate, dark coffee, char, brulee, and hints of brewers licorice. Mouth feel is medium
edging towards medium full, smooth, moderately coating, medium light teetering towards
light carbonation, and a bitter malt finish that is lightly dry.

Not much else to say about this one other than enter this in a contest!

Excellence from those in the shadow of the evil empire (Budweiser)

Cheers

I am trying this beer off the tapper at The brewery as part of a five sample flight. It poured an opaque dark with ecru ring head that is not leaving much lace. The scent had Baltic like notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with subtle semi sweet dark chocolate, anise and roast presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.

12 ounce can, canned on 10/05/22, Batch #527. Think Brutaltruth bought these for us to split when we were at the brewery a few weeks ago so thanks! Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch and a half tan head that stuck around a while. Lots of lacing, too. I like the aroma, the brew smells like dark chocolate, roasted malt, coffee and caramel. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some dark bread and earthy flavors. Leans more bitter/roasty tasting but with a hint of sweetness too. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's coating and a bit creamy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a good, tasty imperial stout. Hoping Zaftig will bring this one back sometime!
