A sticky bun is usually served for breakfast or dessert. In our case, we prefer ours in a glass served whenever the feeling hits. With cinnamon, vanilla, and a touch of pecan this smooth tasty treat will bring a smile to your face.

Canned on 11-9-22. 16oz can poured into a tulip.
Pours almost black; creamy khaki head that falls leaving nice retention and lacing.
The aromas are surprisingly very mild. There's honestly not much going on in the aroma department. It doesn't smell bad, it just doesn't smell like anything.
The flavors are a bit bolder than the nose, but are still on the mild and subtle side. The cinnamon bun characteristics come through in the finish. Some chocolate. Low bitterness to go with a subtle sweetness. Malts do their thing. Finishes clean. Alcohol is well hidden. I'd consider this one dangerously drinkable.
Mouthfeel is full-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's slick, sharp, smooth, and fluffy.
Maybe my expectations were unfair, but I was expecting a bolder beer. While there's nothing wrong with this beer, it's simply muted and restrained. The cinnamon bun characteristics almost go unnoticed but are noticeable in the finish and really nice when you actually pick up on them. It's fine and well crafted, it's just not fun, interesting, or exciting for a "pastry stout".

I am trying this beer off the tapper at The brewery as part of a five sample flight. It poured an opaque dark with ecru ring head that is not leaving much lace. The scent had subtle dark chocolate wafer notes. The taste had dark chocolate malt base with roasted nutmeg, cumin and cinnamon presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body with smooth carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.
