WERC is the first collaboration between Zaftig Brewing Company and the Columbus Crew. The Crew has always put in the work (or should we say, WERC) and that’s how they earned the title of “the hardest working team in America.”

Hand-selected for and brewed to be the 'gold standard' in ales, WERC IPA is refreshingly juicy with Citra and Mosaic hops, specifically made to be enjoyed while cheering on The Crew.

I got a can of this beer off the single shelf from my local Giant Eagle store. It poured a hazy orangish with thin white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had subtle dank blood orange notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bright semi sweet malt base with subtle bitter citrus presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

16 ounce can, canned 03/08/23. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a somewhat hazy golden/orange color with about an inch or so frothy off-white head that stuck around a while. There's also a lot of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like tropical fruit, orange, honeydew melon, and some lemon peel. I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some herbal, pine and lime flavors noticeable too. Nice bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's smooth and a bit slick with a good amount of carbonation. I liked this brew, it's a good sessionable IPA that would probably be really good on a warm day!
