Zaftig’s breakfast stout is made with a combination of coffee, Ghirardelli chocolate, and rolled oats to create this rich complex full bodied stout. We then let it rest in maple bourbon barrels to give it that little something special you won't soon forget.

I am trying this beer off the tapper at the brewery as part of a three sample flight. It poured an opaque dark mahogany amber with no head and no lace. The scent had boozy maple pancake notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to sip with thick super sweet dark chocolate malt base with a bold maple and molasses presence with booze highlights. The mouthfeel was fuller in body and had smoove carbonation. Overall it is ann ok beer.

From the 16 oz can in a snifter via Bluejacket74----Cheers Dude!
This solid imperial pours a dark blackish brown with a nice head of khaki foam
that settles to a thin ring with light lacing and some decent legs. Nose of dark
chocolate, coffee, cream, bourbon, vanilla, char, and dark berry elements amongst
the maple. Flavors expand nicely over the nose with dark chocolate, bourbon, maple,
vanilla, oak, coffee, moderate char, deep roast, toffee, dark berry notes of blackberry
and dark cherry, and a faint hint of smoke. Mouth feel is full, smooth as silk, light
carbonation, rich and complex, and finishing lightly dry.
Overall, a stunner from a stunning brewery!
Cheers

16 ounce can, canned on 05/17/23. Served in a Zaftig snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with not quite an inch tan head that didn't stick around for too long. Small amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like maple, dark chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, vanilla and some bourbon. Taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but with the addition of some molasses and dark bready flavors. It's a sweet tasting imperial stout but not overwhelmingly so. Nice amount of barrel character, too. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's a bit rich and creamy with a moderate amount of carbonation. If you like maple stouts or just stouts in general then give this one a try!
