This is a black IPA with coffee added.
Pours pitch black with a dark foamy head. Leaves some lacing on the glass. Smell is strong of coffee and malt, slightly spicy. Taste is very strong on the coffee for a black ale, which doesn't blend as nicely as I had hoped with the dark malts. Not sure what coffee beans were used but the back end definitely gives off a slight bell pepper taste. It is highly carbonated, so it tickles a little bit going down. Interesting beer, just not my style.
