a unique tasting golden ale with a lot more flavor than most of these have, especially considering the yeast in minimal in here, nothing really happening there, so they have really gotten the most out of the grains and hops in this. its a touch sweet all the way through, a shade darker looking than a lot of these, and relatively more robust. notes of honey and even toffee to the grain, along with a more common light cereal complexion there, softly toasted but still light. there are nuances of vanilla and candied citrus as well, with the grain and the hops coming together. i can appreciate light orange and mild lemon notes later in this, and there is very little bitterness from the hops. the flavor climax is in the dead center of this, where its almost dramatic for a golden ale, but it mellows out nicely toward the finish and very much remains an easy drinker. i like this being something a little different in a style that usually doesnt excite me much. my first beer from these guys, pretty tasty overall...
