Very Strong coffee flavors, so much so it overpowers the beer. Would like a wider range of flavors added to this. The nitro version knocks some of it down.

It would appear this beer has been updated a bit since initial releases, as the ABV is now 12.0% on the 2016 batch I enjoyed today. Super dark black, with tons of chocolate and bitter burnt roast coffee beans present in the aroma and flavor. Mostly though, this is a chocolatey extravaganza but in a good way. Chewy mouthfeel. Super enjoyable. I preferred this straight up version to the vanilla-bean infused variant.

On tap @ the source.

This year's version is 11% ABV and is worth every A. Delicious. Get some.

Consumed at the brewery on February 9th, 2014,

Beer is black with a little tan ring of foam around the edges of the glass.

Aroma is dark, bitter chocolate and coffee.

Flavor is intense roast flavor, nearly burnt. Baker's chocolate and over-roasted coffee. Rich, deep and not bitter enough to be a deal breaker, though you should not make the mistake of reading that and thinking it is not bitter enough. No alcohol present in flavor, which is a nice bonus as we close in on 10%.

Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with just a touch of carbonation tingle.

All is well with this beer. I'll be drinking you again, my friend.
