A lower alcohol Red Ale with a flavorful, lighter body. Generous dry hopping produces pleasant citrus flavors and aromas, while keeping the bitterness low. Finishes crisp and dry.

This beer surprised me. Pours a dark Amber red with a light tan head. Crystal clear. Smell is subdued, but hints of citrus pop through. The flavor is an explosion of citrus flavors, from orange to grapefruit and it's all balanced by a significant caramel/toffee malt backbone. No bitterness. Light mouthfeel. For a 4.0% abv beer this is simply sublime.

On tap at Institution Ale Company in Camarillo, CA.
Pours a clear copper with a foamy beige head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, earth, and slight citrus zest aromas. Taste is much the same with earth and citrus zest flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a fairly subdued smell but solid flavors.
