A very delicious "extra pale rye ale," this pours a nice yellow with a sticky head of foam that sticks around and leaves lots of lacing. Aromas and flavors of citrus and tropical fruits, notably grapefruit rind and berries, plus some pine and even some pine bark, finished by a spicy complex rye character that was so well balanced. Overall, this was extremely refreshing and very balanced. Institution know how to brew pale ales with extreme complexity and balance, and this is a premiere example of that.

An "Extra Rye Pale Ale".
A: Pours a clear orange with a solid 1-finger thick white head which fades slowly and leaves some spots and clumps of lace.
N: Grapefruit, tangerine, orange, floral, some tropical fruits and trace pine.
T: Citrusy, mildly sweet malts for balance, mild rye spices.
M: Semi-moderate body and medium carbonation. Mildly dry and bitter, citrus, malt. Crisp with a mild spicy rye finish.
O: Enjoyed the nice clean balance.
