this is good stout, but not even close to as good as the cask edition they had working on coffee, that beer was incredible, and i would have liked this one a lot more had i not had that one first. the cask improved the texture and the coffee counterbalanced all the sweet and bitter in this base beer. i liked this much less, although its still unique. i dont think the milk sugar overtakes it like it does to so many, the base stout is big enough to stand up to it. i appreciate that, its way too uncommon. sweet and bitter both, but balanced too, smoked for a second, burnt for the next second, frozen concentrated after that, lots of evolution, but not quite enough body, and after tasting it, i really miss what the coffee does to it. smooth still though, and hearty, just not quite as substantial and mellow. these guys make better beer than they get credit for, and their food is dope. forget what they say, come check it out, i was absolutely not disappointed. the cask of this beer with java was top notch..

The stout was being served both regular and nitro tap. There was a subtle difference with the nitro being a bit more creamy and slightly more flavorful. The beer poured black with white head that left a spotty lace. The scent and taste had roast and semisweet chocolate. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with smooth carbonation. Overall it was ok.
