Day Block's Blood Red Saison arrives a dark red color. The head is half an inch in height, and recedes slowly into nice lacing. The aroma is malty and yeasty. Toffee, nuts, mild horse blanket, mild road side ditch. The taste is maltier, and simpler than the aroma. It has some nice toffee and nuts, but lacks the yeasty notes. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a chewy, sticky texture that I find displeasing for the style. Overall, this beer doesn't suit my palate. Others might like it, but I won't be ordering another.
