473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Apr 22 2024 and served barely chilled.

Pours a lightly fogged golden-yellow colour, generating just over an inch of soapy, frothy white head that recedes within three or four minutes. A decent swath of lace is left in its wake, with a tight collar and filmy cap remaining on the surface; looks good so far. I do get pineapple on the nose, but even more prominent is a sweet apple juice note. Beyond that, it's pretty spartan: maybe a wisp of grains and faint lemon.

It tastes mostly of pineapple, both juice and candy. Underneath lie suggestions of grainy malts, lemon and tart apple acidity, with hints of fresh pineapple fruit coming forward at the finish. Slightly sour conclusion with pineapple fruit fading into the aftertaste, which trends off-dry. Light in body, with assertive carbonation that adds some pep to this brew's smooth, slightly juicy mouthfeel. Its appealing pineapple flavours and (relatively) low sourness make for a surprisingly drinkable brew, if not an especially interesting one.

Final Grade: 3.57, a B grade. Pineapple Pizazz isn't necessarily a poor sour: it does manage to deliver some good pineapple flavours, but the problem is there's little-to-nothing else going on. In other words, this is an extremely one-dimensional beer. Now, depending upon your affinity for pineapple, you might be able to enjoy this without getting bored, but personally? I was pretty much over it after a few sips. Like most of the Perth products I've tried in the past, this is rather forgettable, and I'm not inclined to give it a recommendation - that is, unless you're passionate about pineapple sours.
