On tap at the Clockwork Brewing Company: cloudy chestnut coloured beer with a decent head. A slightly chalky, yeasty lemon nose. The initial taste was a sweet dairy concoction, followed by lemon and then rather biscuity with a little hoppy bite. Slightly herbal, metallic flavour on the tongue to finish. Good stuff.

This was the only beer from their own collection that I tried on a recent visit.

The beer poured nicely into a pint glass a dark amber-ruby colour with a decent head that gave good lacing.

The nose was quite bitter for this type of beer, I was a bit surprised, it smelt more like an English beer than a Scottish one with an aroma of hops followed by a slightly bitter citrus nose.

The taste was of malts that followed onto a burnt caramel taste. However this then was followed by a slightly bitter hop-citrus taste that was evident in the nose. This was refreshing and was almost like the beer was cleansing the pallet for the next mouthful.

A good full bodied beer that I could quite simply have drunk all night. However I was able to take away a two pint carry out carton, what a great idea.

Pours a rusty orange with a bubbly off-white head which leaves a little lacing down the glass. Rather strong citrusy hop character in the nose for alt ale it seems. Interesting. Sweet malts in the taste with some hints of caramel followed by a nice citrusy hoppy character leading to a nice lingering finish. Not sure how well this follows the style but it's nice. Smooth and nice mouthfeel. One of the more drinkable offerings from the CBCo. Quite nice.
