Woooooo. Tart! Up front. Nice acedic acid burn in the back, raspberries, grape skins and Brett funk. Really interesting brew. Short, intense finish. Some oak. Middle Brow? More like high brow.

Deep red body with small white head. Smell is of juicy raspberries, red wine, and greek yogert. Taste is much the same with a deep and dry oak tannic presence that adds complexity to a light greek yogert note and lots of raspberries and red wine. A medium body with moderate carbonation. Semi dry finish. This beer is exactly as advertised and is well done by Middle Brow. Really great effort on this beer. I have tried several other beers from Middle Brow which were not very impressive or memorable. This brew is a stand out for them.

12.7 fl oz bottle, no bottled on date. "Farmhouse ale aged in wine barrels with raspberries". "Fruit ale". "Brettanomyces blend, seedling farms raspberries, cabernet sauvignon barrel". Sounds intriguing, and I've been a pretty big fan of Middle Brow so far, so I'm excited for this.
Poured into a Southern Tier Warlock glass.
A - Pours a natural berry-ish color; pinkish-brown in body, with a quick half finger of fizzy white bubbles that die out fast. Second pour yields a much more murkier brown colored body, with some collective sediment in the glass. I love some good sediment.
S - The nose brings in notes of leather, white wine, oak wood, tannins, vinous fruits / white grape, some mosquito spray, natural organic strawberry / raspberry fruitiness. Tannic, and slightly fumey alcohol presence. It's alright, though not entirely pleasant.
T - Taste follows the nose: lightly tart / yeasty brettanomyces blends with the tannic wine barrel flavor / oak wood / white grape flavors, which then gives way to the authentic fruitiness of the raspberries. Earthy, grassy, juicy, herbal, vinous, berryish, leathery, & fruity. A dry wine-like finish.
M - Feel is smooth, crisp, creamy, easy-drinking. Finishes dry & tannic; wine-like. Acidic & warming alcohol bite on the finish. Leather, fruit paste, and floral bug repellent alcohol fumes in the finish. Slight heat?
Overall, decent, but i was hoping for a little bit more out of it. I look forward to the next.
