Undated can; drank 11/23/22 @ the Yarchives.

See-through orange/yellow rust appearance.

A rough pour yielded a huge eggshell head; a thick curtain of tree-rung lace.

Sweet corn, toasted wheat bread & mild caramel notes in the nose.

Creamy medium mouthfeel.

Sweet corn, toasted wheat bread, cereal grain & caramel flavors.

Flavorful, bold but a bit sweet. Solid.

Really nice beer - perfect for sipping at their taproom with some simple buttered homemade breads. Grabbed a four pack to have on hand over the holidays and am enjoying one now with college bowl games.

Really nice toasted malt as expected and balanced well with enough grassy tones from hops. It could maybe use a little more bubbles to spruce up the look and lighten the mouthfeel.

Very delicate flavors are allowed to play and dance together - good beer from a unique brewery

Certainly not the best Vienna I've Had, but not bad conceptually. What do I mean by that ?

Middle Brow, who I want to adore, is nearly my neighborhood brewery/bread-bakery/pizzeria all rolled into one thoughtful package ... a mile west of my home. Middle Brow has had this gastropub for less than two years. Yet, I have not experienced this Trifecta at this advanced a level at this young an age anywhere else in the world (although I'll concede others exist.)

I recently went to Middle Brow to pickup pizzas for a party and buy bread (for me) and snagged their four-pack of this Vienna. Now, they only have two other lagers. While they tend to brew for their table, they mostly are saisons on the wild side with lower alcohol that pair well with their food. But Mozart is a pretty good lager, given Middle Brow's youth and their tendencies to tart things up.

Mozart has a rich amber, but its foam merely Looks OK. Smells tells me mostly malt resides here. Tastes have enough hops to balance the sweet malts. Barely without bubbles and borderline thin, Mozart's Feel is hard to rave about; but the finish is almost semi-dry... not easy to do. A subtle Vienna. Well done, but drink it fresh.

(This beer review was edited on 2/10/20 when I finished the 4 pack. The brewer review below stands unedited as it is hard to improve upon... go experience Middle Brow's yeasts.)

I have had Middle Brow's pizza with saisons; but Mozart missed that chance that evening. So, I had Mozart with Middle Brow's heavy multi-grain rye. It was a match made by different yeasts (to be sure), but they were from the same house. The rye spiced up the beer and the butter smoothed it all out again.

Go to Middle Brow for the pizza and saisons, but treat yourself even more afterwards and take-home the bread.

3/7/21 Enjoyable again. But reduced rating a bit based on this having less body and blander Taste than over at least half of the Viennas I can remember. Now counting over at UnTappd.
