I'm calling this: a saison in spirit. (4% is low for a saison, but this also is an excellent ale for the table.)
There also is an early harvest medley quality to Works Together. It has wheat, abundant foam and the interesting combo of currants and coriander.
High points for Looks. Middle Brow's can (pretty with an intimate, impressionistic painting of a field) also has copy that conveys their mission, as I summarize it, as a "community culinary center." Rose-guava coloring sits underneath some spectacular foam and swirling protein. Smells refreshing. Tastes refreshing, but gentle. And its wild character, actually, is tame; letting the food do its work. I drank Works Together with Middle Brow's bread as a sandwich. I imagine the ale also goes well with their pizza. I will have to try that.
I am a big fan of Middle Brow. But how big comes and goes. I really wish they would focus their talents on brewing. But the pandemic has taken them into offering lots of different foods which, I surmise, are all good; but they detract from their potential as awesome brewers and bakers.
