22 oz bottle into a tulip. $14.
Light gold, and quite hazy, with a small off-white head that persisted well and left a little lacing.
A very nicely balanced aroma with spicy clove phenolics, citrus and delicate musty barnyard notes against a background of biscuity malt.
The taste follows the aroma. A good amount of Brett character compliments the oranges and dry pepperiness of the saison base, and between them they completely hide the 8% ABV. The malt is a little grainy on the palate, while the hops are faint floral/spicy and afford a reserved bitterness. Finishes super dry, with not much of an aftertaste to speak of.
The body is very light and the carbonation is a little lower than expected.
A very tasty example of a Brett saison, which with higher carbonation and bitterness could be great.
