DATE: August 14, 2021... OCCASION: a picture-perfect summer day ends with another hopeful beer... GLASSWARE: HopDevil nonick... pours a handsome amber brown body full of lively bubbles... its head is a finger's worth of thick, porcelain-tinted froth that staunchly stays put... toasted malts, heavy caramel and toffee, oak and fragrant herbs are strong enough to hold its own... pine sneaks in as well... its body is creamy, soft and highly drinkable... its ABV is flying low under the radar... chewy as well... the flavor stays faithful to its aroma: caramel and toffee impress, nuttiness arises to compliment them, and the pine and herbs give an added dimension... smooth and agreeable, this shows big while necessitating the next sip... this is one I will seek out again, a perfect beer for the early or waning months of the year, though late summer seems to agree with it too!

From a growler, after visiting this small, new, local brewery. The beer is a dark amber color with an off-white head. Some haze, fairly low carbonation. The smell is malt-balanced, with a little hop scent in the background. Balanced, with a firm bitterness. Medium body. This is a well-made beer.
