DATE: August 6, 2021... OCCASION: watching the Olympics after a beautiful day of around-the-housing... GLASSWARE: Wychwood pint... a heady pour to start--thick, off-white and resilient... its body, on the other hand, is a hazy, golden amber repository for a cascade of tiny bubbles... nearly four fingers of head greets the lips with every sip... mango, grapefruit, elderberry, honey and lemon... some buttery cracker hints too... far too robust for a beer of this ABV... a smooth, medium-bodied mouthfeel, tart and active at the throat, with a soft entry at the teeth--a minimum buzz... the finish is especially enjoyable, creamy and refreshing... great lacing as the glass drains... its flavor is a mix of floral and citrus--lilac, lavender, and light spices run alongside the mango, grapefruit, lemon and apple juice... the pine makes this especially strong...I have been waiting for a while for this one to be canned... a great all-day product, and a nice kickoff to the night... this is one of the better session ales I have had....

The Azacca hops in Angry Erik's Troll Baby are administered with a deft hand that allows the tropical fruit and pine notes to join with a nice malt backbone. Lovely lacing coats the side of a pint glass. At only 5% ABV, it's definitely a session IPA, and one that would pair well with a host of foods-- or just after yard work on a day like today. I enjoyed mine in Sparta's Mohawk House, a fabulous beer destination.

Really fruity nose, pretty impressive. The first sip is tons of fruity goodness, before you get a nice pine resin throughout the finish. Nice body for a session. Really impressive beer.
