DATE: July 13, 2024... OCCASION: enjoying the last episode of The Bear with a beer I appreciated on last week's lake trip... GLASSWARE: nondescript nonick... a flourishing rush of bubbles builds a two-fingered, cratering white head that holds steady atop the murky, dense grapefruit body... first the Wakatu blares lime and tropical fruits, while the Citra doubles the lime and adds grapefruit and robust melon--a singular, hop-forward attack... biscuit and light caramel, if you search hard enough.... a swift rattle at the teeth announces that attack, though it eases into a lightly chewy, pleasantly refreshing, medium-bodied ale that finishes with a light suggestion of malt... bright, lush lime and grapefruit reward each sip, with orange and passion fruit riding shotgun... the malt is almost untraceable, but this adds to the effect of its power... AE continues to brew strong, worthwhile beers of crushable pace... worth getting your hands on this one...
