Canned 1/23/22. Pilsner glass.
A: pours a slightly hazy straw yellow with two fingers of bright white head that fades to a lingering quarter inch. Steady streams of beautiful bubbles rise up from the base of the glass. A little lacing, but the lack of lacing could be my glassware. Love the way it looks except for the haze.
S: There is a familiar Pilsner malt note, but the slightest hint of lime or lemon, and a touch of funk; perhaps sulfur. Pretty spot on for a German pils.
T: the initial arrival is not what I’d expect; much lighter, crisper than the standard Pilsner. Quickly turns to a floral hoppiness, then a firm, slightly astringent finish. Lingering floral hops and lemon peels.
M: heavier end of light-bodied; well attenuated, but not watery. Carbonation is more restrained than it looks.
O: this is a really outstanding example of an American take on a German pils. I don’t love the haze, and it’s not as malty or as crisp as some I’ve had, but I enjoy this. So much so, it makes me wonder how a brewery can stay relevant with two other yellow lagers in their range. The secret is that they’re so wildly different from one another. This is an absolute summer crusher, but I wouldn’t pair it food. I like it, but I think there are other, better examples out there (but likely none locally).

Pils from Columbus Brewing. Received from @ovaltine in a NBS BIF #15 ninja strike. Stored at 40 degrees after receiving. Reviewed 02/06/22. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Bottom of can stamped “??/27/22” across bottom ring. Served at 41.9 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. Final temperature 51.0 degrees.
Appearance – 3.75
First pour – Straw (SRM 3), clear.
Body – Pale gold (SRM 4), clear. When rear-lite, same, and clear.
Head – Average (Maximum four cm, aggressive center pour), white, low-density froth, average retention, diminishing to a 0.9 to 1.1 cm crown fed by effervescence and a thin, rocky cap.
Lacing – Very good! Wide band of tiny bubbles which rapidly opens into torn curtain lacing.
Aroma – 3.5 – Weak generic hops. No yeast, no malt.
Flavor – 3.5 – Begins markedly bitter with a hint of malt. No yeast. No ethanol (5.2 % ABV as marked on label) taste or aroma. No gastric warming occurs. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl.
Palate – 3.5 – Thin, watery, soft carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3.5 Thanks Mike!

12oz can served in a little glass. Dated 1/27/2022. Received from @ovaltine in NBS BIF #14 antics.
Clear pale yellow, small and short-lived head. Medium active carbonation. Smell is very mild -- all I can get is a light whiff of lemon.
Taste is lemongrass. Pine and cut grass bitter finish, honeysuckle and grain sweetness.
Mouthfeel is very light and crisp. Overall, very nice!

This beer pours a golden straw color and features a minimal amount of suspended haze under a creamy off white head that tenaciously sticks around and provides a nice amount of lacing.
The nose includes grass and a bready note and a significant lemon aroma, and the lemon is really prominent on the taste as well, balanced by a bread flavor that is more reminiscent of a fresh crescent roll.
The crisp finish is a nice cap on this really refreshing, flavorful lager.

Crystal clear light gold; nice dense white head, thin layer of opaque white remains.
Really pleasant nose; just ever so toasted white bread. A touch of lemon like citrus, soft floral note.
The taste is very similar to nose however there is a really nice grassy spicy hop presence that I didn’t expect from the hop aromas; delicious beer.
Light body, very dry finish low nice little bitterness.
This is a tasty beer; it has just the slightest toasty note that makes it quite enjoyable to me.

Thanks to Ovaltine for this one, from a Ninja box during NBS BIF #15. 12oz can (dated 1/xx/22, the printing was on the bottom ring of the can) poured into 16oz tulip. Poured a clean, clear golden straw color with a half-inch of white head that had low retention and no lacing.
The aroma was as expected; solid, earthy grains, light floral hops, and maybe a touch of yeast.
Fairly similar on the tongue, all the aspects one expects, melded together nicely.
The body was typical; light, smooth, crisp, with a medium-dry finish.
Drinkability was good, an easy quaffer that would fit nicely in a multitude of different situations.
Overall, a nicely solid and enjoyable brew. Certainly worth a shot if you see it.

I got a 6pck of this beer from my local meijer store. It poured a slightly hazy golden with white head that is leaving a nice lace. The scent had mild grain notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with typical saaz hop presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.

Clear. Not as clear as I'd like a pils to be though.
Smell is marvelous. It reminds me of Columbus summer teeth which I LOVE. Grainy, biscuits, corn, light floral hops. Faint lemon zest.
Taste is heavier on the citrus zest and not quite the malt I was hoping for. I suppose I can't really knock it, its pretty true to style i think I was just a little pumped that this would be the glory that summerfest is after I smelled it. Its grassy throughout. Finishes with a light piney bitterness.
Feel is very light and thin. Strangely oily on the finish. Like my mouth has a light waxy film almost.
Overall not enamored with it. It may well grow on me though. I will update if so as I bought a 6 pack.
