The beer is a beautiful dark red amber with a nice ivory colored head. It laces extremely well, leaving nice deposits everywhere in the glass. The nose is heavily caramel malt and the taste is unexpected for an ESB. Rather than a bitter, it seems to side much more to the sweet or a balanced position. There is a very heavy musky/earthy sense to the taste that takes a moment or two to accomodate to the palate. Has a fairly dry finish. Interesting beer that merits a toss or two.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
