strange brew here, i gave these guys some time to get better, and i think they only have to a marginal degree. under performing on the beer front, but the food here is amazing as always. this is as much a hefe as it is a wit for me, the banana complexion is ripe, the beer is not dry, and certainly does not display orange and coriander in the nose. its thick and milky looking, it would be almost unattractive dull yellow if it wasnt for the nice lasting inch of pure white snowy delicate head on top, what a visual contrast! thick in feel, wheaty for sure, no denying the grain base of this. its almost too thick though, dreggy and not refreshing like i want the style to be every time. carbonation is fine, and the flavors arent bad, it just doesnt do much for me, and certainly doesnt offer anything new. the yeast is good, there is just more of it in here than necessary, and it loses its ability to refresh me a a result. no off flavors, but it needs some cleaning up.
edit: this has gotten better over time, now one of their more consistent brews, with plenty of head and bubbles, wheaty body, and yeast esters without being overdone. great balance for the style, easy drinking. better than it used to be!
