this is probably the best beer at lowdown right now. a great combination of citra and simcoe and maybe a few others, these guys really nailed this one. deep in color, richer than many, with a copper to borderline amber color, some malt density is obvious. it smells and tastes like a mix of just the two hop strains, but there has to be more going on here than just these. the fruit of the citra and the oil and pine of the simcoe, they are both obvious and excellent. i dont wish for much here, maybe a slightly drier finish and a little more carbonation, but i hear the occasionally serve this one on nitro, which i think would do it a lot of justice. maybe the best feature of this thing is that you cant pick up the alcohol at all, i mean, not even a little bit. its so well hidden. while i wish for a little less balancing malt, i like this beer a lot, and think it has a lot of versatility with their food. lowdown has come a really long way, and they just keep improving. this is absolutely one of their best. way better than the base ipa. more please...

On tap at the brewery. Orange-yellow color, ok head. Aroma is sort of fruity, touch of alcohol, not bad really. Flavor is pretty hoppy, more fruits, alcohol was not too noticeable but it was definitely there. This wasn't bad but it also wasn't anything to write home about which seems to be the problem in craft beer these days. So many breweries and so few actually stand out and differentiate themselves based on quality alone.
