neat brew, simple and classic, but also rather robustly flavored and quite dry for the style, i like it a lot, perfect while its still only early fall and warmer outside. patio type octoberfest beer. bright orange to rust colored in complexion with perfect clarity and over an inch of full and lacy white foam. beautiful. the aroma is a bit nutty and toasty, more of a vienna malt profile than a classic german version of the style, more of a toast than a caramelized thing, a flash of honey but more bready that sweet. very pleasant in the flavor, entirely grain driven, its fresh and sturdy too, i really like this. the yeast isnt as german as it smells like it is, drier and less influential than we are used to seeing in the style, but whatever it is, it makes perfect sense in this beer. moderate carbonation is just enough, this has a slow and mellow vibe to it and any more bubbles would really speed it up too much, i like the pace here. these guys are really making some very good beers these days, definitely underappreciated in the denver brewery scene...
