an amarillo hop focused ipa, and a pretty solid expression of the hops, at least in the nose. this ipa is golden and rather clear, bright in the glass under over an inch of airy white head, a pretty pint for sure. the aroma is great, amarillo for sure, pineapples and melons and tangerines and green apples to me, but more sweetness from the grain than i think the hops like, i get floral honey and some breadiness here. the flavor isnt quite as lively on the hops as the nose, like what i smell didnt all the way translate to the flavor, which is something i have noticed in other hoppy beers from these guys, but it still tastes really nice, tropical and fresh, just muted compared to the bursting aroma. i get a little melon here, a little white pepper spice which is cool, and a leafy vegetal freshness. this is well made beer, but sometimes amarillo hops underwhelm me and they do that again here a little bit. its never been the ipa types that impress me most at lowdown either though. nice fruity flavors for spring here, and delicious with their incredible pizzas!
