leaving the name alone, this is an incredibly refreshing and drinkable glass of beer, basically an unfiltered example of their pilsener, but not overly cleaned up, a little more raw, and with a ton of character, as much as i like their house pils, this one appeals to me even a little more. to me it seems the yeast has more flavor, more of a bright mexican type lager yeast than a dusty old european one, suggestions of citrus and dried flowers in place of baking flour and crackers, a fresher complexion for spring and summer. the rest of the beer is pretty similar, aside from a very light frosted haze to it, its got the same clean mineral rich malt body, the same noble type hop profile at the end, and the same infinite drinkability, dry finish, and high carbonation. i think this is a roaring success, and exactly what i want to be drinking on their patio when the weather is as hot as it has been. not clunky or heavy like some unfiltered lagers can be, this remains delicate and crushable, but i love the subtle yeast flavor and the interaction with the hops. ill be back for more of this one!
