Very glad I picked up a single can of this Steinbier. To my surprise, it turned out to be the most interesting and unusual tasting product I've yet tried from Banded. I'll soon be headed back to the Craft Beer Cellar in MA to purchase a few 4-packs with the knowledge that I won't be disappointed with my purchase.

Pours pitch brown with a vague ruby hue and over a finger of creamy, off-white foam; nice head retention and thick walls of soapy lacing left behind.
Aromas of black malt all the way, with bits of roast and char hovering in the background; hints of creamy vanilla bean sweetness coming through in parts, as well.
Taste of toasty malt, light, gritty milk chocolate, charred wood, and actually a hint of marshmallow near the finish, almost reminds of s'mores.
Mouthfeel brings a nice medium body with some inconsistent carbonation that thins things out occasionally; balanced enough to not become a major distraction, though. Gritty malt presence and crispy effervescence on the finish adds further leveling to any inconsistencies also.
Very pleasant surprise from Banded. Nicely executed aroma and flavor profile that's wholly consistent and enjoyable. Body not as refined as I'd prefer, but overall this is a really solid and pretty unique offering.
